EIGENSINNIG WIEN - MORE THAN JUST FASHION

For more than a decade, eigensinnig wien has stood for avant-garde fashion for women and men, mainly in the non-color black and made of high-quality natural materials.

The showroom, in which the handmade one-offs hang from the high ceiling like works of art, is located on a picturesque square in the middle of the city and yet off the beaten track. It sees itself as a gallery-like stage on which themes inspired by philosophy, sociology, art and culture are alternately played:

  • eigensinnig is the place for international avant-garde fashion.
  • eigensinnig creates extraordinary fashion for men and women.
  • High artistic standards meet traditional tailoring.
  • Custom-made products in the in-house tailor shop directly above the showroom
  • idiosyncratic plays with contrasts in the spectrum from experimental designs with wide, space-giving silhouettes to strictly classic, reservedly elegant designs.

THE SHOWROOM AS AN ART INSTALLATION

Inspired by the tenth character after Robert Musil

Musil's "tenth character", understood as "passive fantasy of unfilled spaces", is reflected as the umpteenth character in our showroom: the unique avant-garde pieces hang from the high ceiling like works of art. There is deliberately a lot of space between them, so that what makes 'eigensinnig wien' has space - ideas and thoughts from philosophy, psychology, sociology, culture and the fine arts.

The "black-dead" tree and the fire bowl filled with water in the gallery-like space are reminiscent of the forest fires and floods in summer and can thus be read as warning comments on the climate catastrophe.
