eigensinnig wien Bassi Light linen dress for summer; can be worn as a long blouse too - in black

Regular price € 580,00 including VAT

Loose-fitting linen dress with a wavy back that can also be worn as a delicate coat. Fluent lightness in every season.

In 18th-century Bologna, Laura Bassi was the first female university professor in modern Europe. She first taught philosophy, then physics as well – as the only woman among countless men.

Our long dress made of soft linen is dedicated to this intellectual woman. It is loose-fitting, but not oversized – something in between. In the back it is slightly longer than in the front. The pleat at the back provides a feeling of freedom. An obstinate detail, the embroidery on the front is reminiscent of branches and provides our obstinate dress, whose double-stitched collar is hinted at rather than pronounced, with a wabi-sabi aesthetic. Other details contributing to this look are the asymmetrical sleeve vent with open seams and the subtle black horn buttons

You can find 'Bassi' in different colors and fabrics.

eigensinnig wien: Special avant-garde fashion for men and women.

Under our avant-garde fashion label 'eigensinnig wien', we manufacture unique fashion pieces for obstinate characters. We design our collections in an experimental process, enriching them with thoughts and ideas from the fields of philosophy, art and literature or drawing inspiration from philosophy, art and literature. That is why our trousers and jackets, blouses and dresses bear the names of philosophers, literary figures and sociologists. We work with materials from nature, which we like to combine in asymmetrical, avant-garde cuts. Our aesthetic is based on the Japanese wabi-sabi concept: “Pare down to the essence, but don’t remove the poetry.”
