Light, versatile summer pullover that surprises with subtly special details. Avant-garde creation for free spirits who do not want to commit.

With "Madame Bovary" and "L'Education Sentimentale," the French novelist Gustave Flaubert introduced a new era in the European novel. In these works, he dispenses with pathos and melodrama in favor of an objectified realism and presents life as what it actually is most of the time: a tough and sluggish flow whose fascination lies in precisely this monotony.

Similarly unpretentious yet sophisticated is the black summer pullover from the in-house atelier, which can be worn by all genders. The sophistication of this slim-fitting, versatile lightness made from a soft viscose and linen blend is revealed to observers only at second glance, when the details start to come into their own.

The special collar with slightly frayed, wabi-sabi seams can be closed via a button made of high-quality, delicate horn, transforming the obstinacy into an unconventional turtleneck pullover.
With the button opened, 'Flaubert' becomes a casual companion for cooler moments in spring and summer.
The sleeves and the waistband close unexcitingly straight.

Combined with the black linen trousers 'Feyerabend' or the trousers 'Châtelet' made of coarse textured linen, 'Flaubert' becomes an unconventional, casual ensemble for leisure or work. For special occasions, the pullover can be worn by men with the slim trousers 'Gropius' and the jacket 'Fromm', women can turn it into an elegant, extraordinary ensemble with the trousers 'Bachmann'.

eigensinnig wien: special avant-garde fashion for men and women.

Under our avant-garde fashion label eigensinnig wien, we manufacture unique fashion pieces for obstinate characters. We design our collections in an experimental process, enriching them with thoughts and ideas from the fields of philosophy, art and literature or drawing inspiration from philosophy, art and literature. That is why our trousers and jackets, blouses and dresses bear the names of philosophers, literary figures and sociologists. We work with materials from nature, which we like to combine in asymmetrical, avant-garde cuts. Our aesthetic is based on the Japanese wabi-sabi concept: “Pare down to the essence, but don’t remove the poetry.”
