“Persephone” moves between cape, poncho, and coat. The wide cut falls freely from the shoulders and develops a different presence depending on the wearer’s posture: at rest, the line appears long and composed; in motion, the cape opens at the sides and reveals its exceptional width.

The oversized hood frames the head and face and defines the dark character of the design. A diagonally placed metal zipper runs across the front, creating a clear contrast with the soft surface of the fabric.

Inspiration: Persephone Between Darkness and Transformation

The name “Persephone” refers to the figure from Greek mythology who moves between the upper world and the underworld. Her myth tells of transition, return, and transformation. This tension is reflected in the design: the hood can envelop the body protectively, while the open width and asymmetrical drape give the cape a changeable, almost sculptural presence.

Cut & Construction: Wide Poncho with Asymmetrical Two-Way Zipper

The generous cut gives the fabric plenty of space and creates an easy, unrestricted fit. Pronounced width develops at the sides, opening with the movement of the arms and emphasizing the characteristic cape effect. The curved hem with varying lengths reinforces the unconventional line of the design.

The asymmetrically placed two-way zipper can be opened from both the top and bottom. This allows “Persephone” to be worn fully closed, partially open, or more loosely. Its diagonal placement also structures the front and strengthens the graphic character of the design.

A large patch pocket is integrated into the surface of the cape and provides practical storage. Deliberately reduced seams and exposed-looking edges draw attention to the material, proportions, and craftsmanship.

The matte, lightly textured surface has a pleasant, substantial hand and gives the wide shape enough structure. At the same time, the fabric drapes softly and supports the flowing lines of the cape.

Black focuses attention on construction and material. The dark surface allows the hood, pocket, seams, and silver-tone metal zipper to stand out clearly, making “Persephone” a versatile foundation for avant-garde all-black outfits.

The generously cut hood is one of the defining details of “Persephone.” Worn up, it creates a striking contour around the head and face; folded back, it forms soft volume around the shoulders and upper back.

The diagonal two-way metal zipper creates a visible line across the front and allows for different ways of wearing the piece. A large patch pocket complements the reduced construction. Raw-edge details and the irregular hem give the black designer poncho its intentionally unfinished character.
