Epikur Exceptional men's low crotch pleated pants from cotton in grey

Men's low crotch pleated trousers in a cotton-linen-mix. An elegant-raw, obstinate reinterpretation of the pleated trousers.

These pants are dedicated to the Greek philosopher Epikur. Epikur, who throughout his life was devoted to physics, logic and ethics, always aimed to increase the joy of life through the enjoyment of each day and moment.

This joie de vivre is also to be conveyed by the men's trousers with the deep crotch and the large legroom from the in-house atelier. They are handmade from ramie, also called grass linen. This is a linen-like fabric made from the stalk of ramie, a bast fiber. Characteristic of this fabric is the subtle, silky sheen - and a great lightness.

These men's trousers are full of quirky details:
  • The inverted pleats: They go inward, not outward.
  • the concealed button placket with the discreet, natural horn buttons
  • the ocher yellow seam edgings inside the trousers, which become visible when you roll up the trouser legs
  • the asymmetrical detail seams on the trouser legs
  • the two side pockets with the detail of the three lines

If man wants it a little more classic, "Epikur" with the men's jacket "Fichte" and the gilet "Merleau-Ponty" becomes an autumnal avant-garde three-piece.

We design our collections in an experimental process, enriching them with thoughts and ideas from the fields of philosophy, art and literature or drawing inspiration from philosophy, art and literature. That is why our trousers and jackets, blouses and dresses bear the names of philosophers, literary figures and sociologists. We work with materials from nature, which we like to combine in asymmetrical, avant-garde cuts. Our aesthetic is based on the Japanese wabi-sabi concept: “Pare down to the essence, but don’t remove the poetry.”
