"Defend your right to think" is one of the quotes attributed to the late ancient mathematician, astronomer and philosopher Hypatia of Alexandria. However, one is not sure about the authorship, because nothing of the works of the great thinker, who was considered particularly eloquent and progressive, has survived - for the sole reason that she was not a man.
To honor this remarkable and impressive woman, we have dedicated a black dress made of pure silk with a discreet round neckline to her in our in-house atelier - a timelessly elegant creation that can also be worn casually with a belt. The elegance of the wide-cut, airy, free-flowing dress with its short, wide sleeves and two slits of different lengths is subtly interrupted by two small, patch pockets on the front that are slightly frayed. This play on contrasts continues at the seams: the front one is closed, straight and centered and looks clean, smooth and classy; the back one is slightly frayed and looks mismatched, rebellious and provocative. Also in terms of seasons, the elegant obstinacy can not be fixed, because 'Hypatia' can be worn with sandals in spring and summer, and with boots in autumn and winter.
As in all our creations, there are a few surprising details in this rarity:
