Nonconformist men's zipper jacket with obstinate zippers on the sleeve and short stand-up collar. Handmade from waxed cotton.
Theodor W. Adorno, the philosopher and composer, was the founder of the "Frankfurt School," considered the most influential school of thought in German philosophy. Herbert Marcuse, Walter Benjamin and Erich Fromm were also part of this Enlightenment movement. Adorno was very much into non-conformist thinking - and the men's jacket named after him is just as non-conformist.
It is made of a special waxed cotton that has slight irregularities and develops an individual patina over time, giving it even more obstinacy. 'Adorno' is cut straight, but still has a complex character that shows in the details:
- the zipper on the sleeves running parallel to the waistband
- the short stand-up collar
- material and coloring that change in a natural process when worn
- the cotton lining with two inside pockets for smaller items
eigensinnig wien: special avant-garde fashion for men and women.
Under our avant-garde fashion label eigensinnig wien, we manufacture unique fashion pieces for obstinate characters. We design our collections in an experimental process, enriching them with thoughts and ideas from the fields of philosophy, art and literature or drawing inspiration from philosophy, art and literature. That is why our trousers and jackets, blouses and dresses bear the names of philosophers, literary figures and sociologists. We work with materials from nature, which we like to combine in asymmetrical, avant-garde cuts. Our aesthetic is based on the Japanese wabi-sabi concept: “Pare down to the essence, but don’t remove the poetry.”
