Provocative women's pullover with playful collar made of pure cotton. An extraordinary creation for rebellious individualists.

The avant-garde Jean Genet began writing away from ordinary social life and escaped a life sentence only because of his inspiring spirit. Genet recognized beauty in the obscene and virtue in the forbidden - a provocateur who was revered and hated for his extraordinary view of the world.

We capture Genet's nonconformity in the wavy-textured cotton fabric of the women's sweater named after him, which never stays in one direction like the rough surface of the Seine in Paris. This model possesses a loud character as it provokes every viewer with eye-catching details such as the tapered neckline finished by a large metal button, the decorative stitching in light gray contrasting color and the turned-up collar. The back view also has an unusual design: a yoke with an open edge encloses a special pleat at the back that allows great freedom of movement, so that wayward people can feel free and unbound like Genet's characters.
To punctuate the standout wabi-sabi aesthetic of the daringly tailored pullover for women, we've incorporated little mismatched subtleties that serve as our fashion signature:

Like Genet's dramas, the women's sweater is provocative with contrasts, most notably manifested in the light grey decorative seams that rebelliously contradict the black fabric
The side slit hem is slightly shorter in the front than in the back and runs in an s-shape into the longer, wide back section
At the bottom side seam, the pulover features the three ochre-colored bars that are typical of obstinate

In combination with the black trousers 'Didion', 'Goethe' or 'Montesquieu' made of warming wool, 'Genet' becomes an obstinate creation for fall and winter.

Under our avant-garde fashion label eigensinnig wien, we manufacture unique fashion pieces for obstinate characters. We design our collections in an experimental process, enriching them with thoughts and ideas from the fields of philosophy, art and literature or drawing inspiration from philosophy, art and literature. That is why our trousers and jackets, blouses and dresses bear the names of philosophers, literary figures and sociologists. We work with materials from nature, which we like to combine in asymmetrical, avant-garde cuts. Our aesthetic is based on the Japanese wabi-sabi concept: “Pare down to the essence, but don’t remove the poetry.”
