Elegant, minimalist men's short coat made of special linen fabric, which surprises with subtle-extraordinary details - and proves versatility in combination with other obstinacy.

"To Have or To Be" is one of the most important works by the German-American psychoanalyst, philosopher and social psychologist Erich Fromm, who is regarded as an influential representative of humanism and devoted his entire life to existential questions.

The black men's short coat named after him, knitted in the company's own atelier, is similarly existential: In its minimalism, it poses the question of what is essential. Made of 100% coated linen, the slim-fitting obstinacy with two side pockets and an inner breast pocket has no lapels and gets by with a single button on the front.

A touch of subtle extravagance is provided by the unusual details, which are expressed mainly in the cut:

At the back, a diagonal seam runs across the shoulders and then extends into a sleeve on one side and across the front of the chest on the other: a metaphor for life's journey, which can run in several directions.
The sleeves close asymmetrically
The hems are slightly frayed and can be read as a stand-in for the chaos that existence brings.

Combined with avant-garde 'Meinong' trousers and 'Ricoeur' T-shirt, 'Fromm' becomes an unconventional interpretation of the classic suit; worn with 'Freud' shirt, its elegant side is revealed. If you like it more special, combine the short coat with the extraordinary trousers 'Goethe'.

That is why our trousers and jackets, blouses and dresses bear the names of philosophers, literary figures and sociologists. We work with materials from nature, which we like to combine in asymmetrical, avant-garde cuts. Our aesthetic is based on the Japanese wabi-sabi concept: “Pare down to the essence, but don’t remove the poetry.”
