This extraordinary avant-garde hat made of cold- and moisture-resistant hair felt would be tailor-made for David Bowie. The British pop and rock musician was considered a quick-change artist, playing with genders and those in between. Striking like him, this robust but at the same time playful Fedora hat presents itself, created in our own atelier and handmade in the traditional Viennese manufactory of Mühlbauer Hats.

He does not fit into any drawer, has no classical front and back and amazes with round as well as rectangular elements. The extraordinary musician touched his audience with his wide, musical range, his countless facets. In this way, the unconventional hat named after him has also been designed for women and men. Subtlety, versatility and obstinacy are in the foreground of this very extravagant model and emphasize the individual character of its wearer.

Combine 'Bowie' with the avant-garde winter coat 'Schumpeter' and the unconventional pullover 'Tolstoi' for an obstinate ensemble.

The traditional manufactory was founded in 1903 by Julianna Mühlbauer in the Viennese district of Floridsdorf and was then home to a hat manufacturing workshop with an attached store. Almost 100 years later, the family business is already managed by Klaus Mühlbauer in the 4th generation.
In finest manual work the unique creations are first plated by the hat maker, then dried and finally decorated and finished in the fashion atelier. The company philosophy harmoniously combines old with new, tradition with innovation.
Klaus Mühlbauer designs idiosyncratic hat models that are worn by many famous artists such as Meryl Streep or Brad Pitt, but also by headstrong characters who are not in the limelight. Unconventional caps, casual fisherman's hats or special beanies made of high-quality materials such as fur, straw, felt or fabric adorn headstrong heads of all genders, in addition to the classic hats in different variations.
