It is still spring in Italy. Summer is approaching. The hot days are coming. Reinhard Plank, the creative milliner, knows this time. He makes preparations. Images rise in front of his inner eye. He has in mind a wide-brimmed straw hat for ladies and gentlemen.

One of a kind. Handmade. An extravagant, large straw hat in black. A summer hat. Light and comfortable to wear. Made of 100 % robust but fine straw. A natural material. It is meant to be a fancy hat for women and men.

In his obstinate head, Plank has long since worked out this summer hat, this round hat, this straw hat with a very wide brim. The execution is imminent. The only thing missing is a name for his work of art.

Reinhard Plank does not know why this choice was made. Or does he? Beghe stands for quarrel in Italian. Maybe it's about the inner creative power. The personal confrontation with oneself before an impressive work like this summer hat can be created.

Behind the avant-garde hat creations is South Tyrolean-born Reinhard Plank, who studied industrial design at the Angewandte in Vienna and has been putting an unconventional finishing touch on headwear in his studio since 2005.
The extraordinary hats are handmade near Florence, making each artifact unique in its own right. One of his most unusual manufacturing processes is burning the wool, which gives each model its own unique coloration.
His original collections look playful, minimalist and provocative at the same time. But Plank never loses sight of what is essential: the people for whom he creates. The central question is always how the individual deals with the concept of personal space: does the individual want to remain discreetly in the background or show himself rather extravagantly. Plank's craftsmanship, design and art are oriented to this.
